Everything you need to know about attending a Madison HubSpot User Group Meeting

This page contains answers to some of the questions you might have before attending a “HUG." If there’s anything else you’re wondering about, feel free to reach out to us at support@madison.marketing.

What’s a HubSpot User Group?
A HubSpot User Group is a group of local HubSpot users who meet on a quarterly basis to discuss and learn all things HubSpot. Each “HUG” is sponsored by both HubSpot and a local HubSpot partner agency (in this case, Madison Marketing Group) that has proven -- through training and service to its clients -- that it knows HubSpot and inbound marketing inside and out.

Who is Madison Marketing Group?
We’re the local sponsor of the Madison HubSpot User Group. Madison Marketing Group is a full-service digital marketing agency with specialties in digital marketing strategy, website design and development, and HubSpot of course. We’re a small team that’s been in business since 2011. We’ve seen HubSpot go through many changes since then and remain committed to providing our clients (and HUG attendees) with the most relevant and up-to-date best practices and strategies, tailored to their companies’ unique needs and goals.

What do you do at a HUG?
Typically a HUG meeting consists of some time to network, a free meal, and a presentation covering a HubSpot-related topic.

What topics are covered?
We understand that not everyone’s use of HubSpot is exactly the same. We try to keep presentations general enough that everyone can find some value. But, we’ve been at this long enough to have figured out more advanced ways of using the tools that we are happy to share. Generally, our presentations cover the basics of the topic and how they relate to digital marketing in general, then talk about how to apply the basics within HubSpot. We finish up by covering some advanced tips and usually have a productive discussion where attendees share their own experiences or ask questions of the group.

How do you decide which topics to cover?
We source HUG topics in a variety of ways. Here are a few:

  • Strategies and challenges we’ve experienced first-hand working with our clients
  • Recommendations from HubSpot
  • Suggestions from HUG attendees. If you’d like to submit a topic idea, send us an email at support@madison.marketing.
Where are the meetings held?
We understand that our attendees are busy. We’ve found we get the best attendance and participation when we provide food. Our attendees can eat lunch and learn something at the same time. All Madison HubSpot User Group meetings are currently held over the lunch hour at the Great Dane in Fitchburg.

What’s for lunch?
Attendees can pick from four entrees, one of which will always be a vegetarian option. Menu options for the upcoming events can be found on the registration page.

What else do I need to know?
Our group will continue to grow and get better with active participation. We encourage anyone interested in the group (even if you can’t attend the events) to join our LinkedIn group and subscribe to our blog. The LinkedIn group is a great place to connect with other HubSpot users while the blog will be where we’ll post any announcements and summaries of our events.

Last, but not least, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! If you have any questions or topic ideas, just email support@madison.marketing.
